Warehouse Laborer II
Columbus, NE
This position will receive, store, and distribute cylinders and merchandise within the establishment and onto distribution trucks by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine what cylinders and/or welding supplies need to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Conveys cylinders or merchandise from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
Sorts and places cylinders and merchandise according to predetermined sequence such as size, type of gas or equipment, color or brand.
Assembles customer orders from stock and places cylinders and/or merchandise on trucks.
Compares packing slips and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing merchandise to verify information against purchase orders.
Determines method of shipment.
Affixes shipping label on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Inserts items into containers.
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Labels all merchandise properly for showroom or other storage.
Checks all merchandise received for backorders and sends out the backordered merchandise first.
Routes items to departments.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates forklift to move, convey, or hoist merchandise from freight trucks to storage or work area.
Backs up route drivers and assists with inside sales when needed.
Assists with semi-annual inventories.
Assists with inside sales when necessary.
Requirements:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Class B CDL with hazmat and airbrakes endorsements.
Forklift Cert., HAZMAT training & cert.
Candidate must have a CDL w/ 2 years driving exp. in order to be considered for this position.
Ability to work independently as well as with others, concentrate for extended periods of time.
General knowledge of welding equipment, gases and invoices; Computer programs such as Windows and AS400 functions.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, write simple correspondence, effectively communicate with customers, clients, vendors and other employees of the organization; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
