Work Schedule: Full time days M-F, plus some additional hours. (Variables: rotating weekend on-call.)
$14.45 - $16.70/hr. Promotion to Child & Family Services Specialist will occur after successful completion of required classroom and on-the-job training programs.
Examples of Work:
Responsible for investigating allegations of child abuse/neglect which may lead to taking immediate action to ensure child safety. Coordinate investigations with local law enforcement and other agencies within the community. Provide crisis intervention and safety planning to families/children. Conduct announced and unannounced home visits to conduct assessments and monitor plans. Collaborate with professionals in the court system to provide professional opinions and testimony at hearings. Document all contacts and interviews with individuals. Complete formal written assessments including a critical analysis of data gathered to determine if a child is safe and what level of intervention may be needed. When children must be removed from their parental home, will actively seek relatives and others known to the child to determine best first placement options. Will require some unexpected work hours during nontraditional hours and/or travel throughout Nebraska.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Consideration will be given to applicants who will receive a Bachelors degree within 90 days of application date. Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, mental health care, education, criminal justice, or closely related area.
OTHER: After hire, must be certified in training which de-escalates and manages communication and physical interactions. Valid driver''s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
